In Minecraft, Aqua Affinity is a helmet enchantment that removes the mining speed penalty when underwater. This enchantment allows you to mine blocks at the normal, faster speed you would on land, even though the normal speed underwater is usually five times slower. You apply Aqua Affinity to any helmet, and its effect only works when the player's head is fully submerged.
